Dr. Pimple Popper Sandra Lee Ep.5
The causes cystic pimples:
Excess Sebum Production: Overactive sebaceous glands produce more oil (sebum), which can clog hair follicles.
Bacterial Infection: The bacterium Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes) thrives in clogged pores and contributes to inflammation.
Inflammation: Inflammatory responses lead to redness, swelling, and pain.
Hormonal Changes: Hormonal fluctuations, especially during puberty, menstruation, or pregnancy, can trigger cystic acne.
Genetics: A family history of acne may increase the risk.
Diet and Lifestyle: High-glycemic foods, dairy, and stress might play a role.
